Ride Safe, Ride Aware: Motorcycle Safety in May

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the thrill of the open road while prioritizing safety for riders and drivers alike. At WealthWise Financial Group, we’re proud to support the Midwest Biker Relief Foundation (MBRF) in their mission to advocate for motorcyclists and strengthen our community. This month, let’s rev up awareness and keep safety first.

Motorcycling is more than a hobby—it’s a lifestyle embraced by millions. Brands like Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, and Indian Motorcycle craft machines that inspire adventure and freedom. But with great rides come great responsibilities. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcyclists are significantly more vulnerable to crashes than car drivers. Many accidents happen because drivers fail to notice bikes on the road. That’s where awareness makes all the difference.

Here are a few tips to keep everyone safe:

  • For Drivers: Always check your blind spots, signal early, and give motorcyclists plenty of space. A moment of caution can save a life.
  • For Riders: Wear visible gear, use helmets compliant with safety standards, and stay alert. Brands like BMW Motorrad and Kawasaki emphasize rider safety with advanced tech—use it.
  • For Everyone: Share the road respectfully. Awareness is a two-way street.

The Midwest Biker Relief Foundation is doing incredible work to support riders through education, advocacy, and community outreach. Their programs help injured bikers, promote safety training, and foster a culture of respect on the road. Visit mbrf.net to learn more, donate, or get involved. Your support can keep the wheels turning for this vital cause.

This May, let’s commit to looking twice and riding smart. Tag your favorite brands—@HarleyDavidson, @HondaPowersports,@YamahaMotorUSA, @IndianMotorcycle—and spread the word on X, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Together, we can make every ride a safe one.

Ride on, stay safe, and support mbrf.net.
